It critically examines the roles and responsibilities of various bodies constituted under the various legislations for the prevention control and abatement of environmental pollution in India, in shaping policy trajectories and implementing regulatory measures. Furthermore, the paper probes into the complexities surrounding compliance, enforcement, and monitoring mechanisms.
